Dana White’s Contender Series Week 8 Season 8 Predictions
em 29/09 - Atualizado há 4 mesesCheck out our analysis and predictions for Dana White’s Contender Series Week 8. This episode features three Brazilian participants, as well as the return of a participant from the previous season.

Christien Savoie x Jacobe Smith
Bet: Smith wins
Analysis: Smith is undefeated at 8-0 and has his base in wrestling. He already has six wins in round 1 with his game consisting of takedowns and striking. It’s been working because he’s fought some pretty average guys. Perhaps now will be his real test, because Savoie, at 32, has a bit more experience, even if he was fighting in very small events. When he faced a fighter of UFC caliber (Bassil Hafez) he was finished in the first round. I think Smith’s game has more consistency.
Abdellah Er-Ramy x Torrez Finney
Bet: Finney wins
Analysis: Er-Ramy seems to be a good fighter, but unfortunately he will be facing a tough bull. Finney will be making his THIRD attempt to enter the UFC via Contender. Yes, you didn’t read that wrong: it’s his third attempt and the crazy thing is that he won both times! The problem is that his game, although effective, is very ugly to watch and doesn’t excite. I’d say there’s a good chance he could win again, but to get the contract he’d have to finish the fight in the first round, and I don’t know if Er-Ramy will let it be that easy…
David Martinez x Xavier Franklin
Bet: Martinez wins
Analysis: It should be a mostly striking fight. And there, I put more faith in the 10-1 Mexican, with nine knockout wins and sharp boxing. The difference Franklin can bring to the fight is his ground game. But with the two of them being the same height, I’m not sure it will be so easy to take Martinez down.
Alberto Montes vs. Carlos Calderon
Bet: Montes wins
Analysis: Two athletes who prefer ground fighting and have good jiu-jitsu. It will depend on who manages to get the takedown first and get into a good position to finish. And if the opportunity arises, I believe Montes has a better chance of finishing. But chances are it won’t be a very exciting fight… I hope I’m wrong.
Diyar Nurgozhay vs Bartosz Szewczyk
Better guess: Nurgozhay wins
Analysis: The two have a somewhat suspect record, but the Kazakh Nurgozhay seems to have a more complete game, both on the feet and on the ground. And gas won’t be a problem. Since Szewczyk is a longer man, Nurgozhay should invest in his ground game, with control and maybe even a finish. The Pole has already been finished once in 2021 and has an 8-2-1 record, while Nurgozhay is undefeated at 9-0.
