UFC 312: Du Plessis vs Strickland 2 marks the eagerly awaited middleweight title clash at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, on February 8.

Sean Strickland will try to regain the middleweight belt in a rematch against the current champion, Dricus Du Plessis, who will be defending his title for the second time.

UFC 312: Du Plessis vs Strickland 2

Hyunsung Park x Nyamjargal Tumendemberel

Bet: Park wins

Analysis: Two athletes with little experience, but Park is much more aggressive, with 8 of his 9 wins coming by knockout/final. In Nyamjargal’s last fight, his gas was a little worrying.

Kody Steele x Rongzhu

Bet: Steele wins

Analysis: Steele is a high-level grappler, and Rongzhu has already been finished four times. Although the Chinese fighter has extensive experience despite being only 24 years old, Kody’s game is much more effective, and if he manages to secure takedowns easily, victory will come smoothly.

Quillan Salkilld vs Anshul Jubli

Bet: Salkilld wins

Analysis: The Indian in his last performance, in addition to being knocked out, showed fear of the BARKING that his opponent made. Yes, that’s exactly what it was. How would you bet on a guy like that? Quillan is making his UFC debut. He’s a complete athlete, good on the feet and on the ground and with energy for three rounds.

Jonathan Micallef x Kevin Jousset

Low confidence
Bet: Micallef wins

Analysis: Another UFC debut for an athlete coming from Contender. Micallef is a good fighter, especially if the fight goes to the ground. The problem is that Jousset is also good, at least at defending takedowns. I see Jonathan winning because Kevin was knocked out a few months ago and I’m not sure if he’ll be 100% recovered.

Aleksandre Topuria vs. Colby Thicknesse

* Colby accepted the fight with a few days left.
Bet: Thicknesse wins

Analysis: Ilia Topuria’s brother has a VERY suspect record, with wins over athletes with extremely negative records. Not to mention that he has little experience in MMA. His opponent is undefeated, with 9 wins, by all means (knockout, submission, decision) and has a reasonable record. And I think everyone knows that, normally, when there are brothers in the middle of a fight, it’s rare that both are good…

Wang Cong x Bruna Brasil

Bet: Cong wins

Analysis: The Chinese joker will arrive with blood in her eyes after her last fight, where she was winning until she made a mistake and was finished. Although the Brazilian has evolved and is now with Fighting Nerds, Cong’s kickboxing is different and her aggressive style is very effective. Remember that the Brazilian has already been knocked out 3 TIMES…

Tom Nolan vs Viacheslav Borshchev

Bet: Nolan wins

Analysis: There’s almost 10 years difference between the athletes and Nolan will have a good height and wingspan advantage. Although the Russian is a great fighter on his feet, Tom tends to impose his pace more when it comes to volume. He just can’t go in like a “train” and forget that he has a top-level striker in front of him…

Jack Jenkins vs Gabriel Santos

Bet: Santos wins

Analysis: Although the Brazilian has a 1-2 record in the UFC, his defeats have come against two tough opponents. When he faced an average fighter, he managed to win well. And now, he’s going to face another fighter of the same type who has already been finished twice, in the area that is the Brazilian’s specialty. It could be an even fight, but I see Gabriel with some advantages.

Jake Matthews x Francisco Prado

Predictor: Prado wins

Analysis: Matthews has been in the UFC for a long time, but always in a “win-lose” situation. Now he’s going to fight a young Argentinian who is flying, even though he lost an extremely even fight in his last outing. Prado has a game that imposes pressure. Whether standing or on the ground, he has the strength to win the fight.

Jimmy Crute vs. Rodolfo Bellato

Bet: Bellato wins

Analysis: Crute arrives for his last attempt after 3 defeats and 1 draw. Bellato is on a good run and trying to impress the boss and the public, not to mention that he has a height and wingspan advantage. I wouldn’t doubt a knockout from the Brazilian.

Justin Tafa vs Tallison Teixeira

Bet: Teixeira wins

Analysis: Tafa is dangerous in the early rounds, but dies on the gas. The Brazilian is a knockout artist and can counter punch well. If he takes it easy and finds his timing, he has a good chance of landing the first knockout on Justin.

Zhang Weili x Tatiana Suarez

Bet: Weili wins

Analysis: Everyone knows that Suárez is an outstanding athlete. However, due to her injuries and other serious health problems, I think it’s very difficult for her to enter the octagon at her peak. On the other side, we have the most complete and dangerous Chinese athlete today, who is also on an incredible winning streak. With five rounds, Tatiana could start off winning, but as time goes by, Zhang will grow into the fight.

Dricus Du Plessis x Sean Strickland

Bet: Du Plessis wins

Analysis: Strickland’s boxing is boring to watch and I don’t think he’ll ever win the belt again. Du Plessis, in his weird way, is very effective. If he wants the safe way, he should be able to get a few takedowns against the American. If he stays on his feet for too long, he could be in trouble. Remember that in his fight with Adesanya, he was getting beaten on the feet, but found a magical finish in the fourth round. That’s even a possibility for this fight against Sean…
