There was a knockdown and Jousset’s ribs were badly bruised. In the end, at least rounds 1 and 2 were pretty clear for Jonathan, so the decision win was a no-brainer.

Look, I expected a lot more from Kody. He had a negative fight IQ! He tried very few takedowns and only at the beginning of the fight. On the feet, you could tell that the American has a good chin, because he could take a beating, but the Chinese guy blew me away! He boxed very well, destroying Steele’s face little by little. And then he added a few kicks to close the American’s coffin and bring Steele his first professional defeat. It was a gala performance from Rongzhu.
Aleksandre Topuria vs. Colby Thicknesse

It was a consistent win for Aleksandre, even though everyone was expecting a knockout. Thicknesse had little to do. Topuria had a great defense and his attacks with his hands and feet were extremely effective. Aleksandre’s wrestling was also very well executed. In the end, a clear-cut decision victory.
Wang Cong x Bruna Brasil

We always praise Fighting Nerds’ fight plans, however, this time, they got it wrong. Bruna didn’t attempt ONE takedown in the entire fight! Even though the first round was even, from the second onwards, the Chinese woman was very comfortable with her high-level striking, while the Brazilian seemed cowed. And it was like that until the end.
Tom Nolan vs. Viacheslav Borshchev

Nolan, fighting at home, was very comfortable. Even on the feet, fighting a top-level striker and even better on the ground. Borshchev even landed a higher percentage of punches, but Tom’s strike volume was far superior. An easy decision win.
Jack Jenkins vs Gabriel Santos

Victory in that Chute Boxe style that always catches the eye! In round 1, the Brazilian had a scare and was almost knocked out. Fortunately, still in the first round, he tried a few finishes, which were already a sign of things to come. In the second round, the Brazilian was much better, taking down, controlling and landing good elbows. In the third, he continued to improve and even managed to find a well-executed rear naked choke.
Jake Matthews x Francisco Prado

Prado moved up a category, but from what we saw, it’s not his place. Matthews was ahead in every round. Other than that, it was the most boring fight of the night. Still, a clear victory for Jake in the judges’ decision.
Jimmy Crute vs. Rodolfo Bellato

Tough fight to score really. Bellato put up a terrible defense. Almost everything the Crute wanted to hit the Brazilian with succeeded. But Jimmy tired, and the Brazilian grew into the fight. The body punches took a lot of energy out of Crute. In the end, I saw Crute winning, but a draw is acceptable.
Justin Tafa vs Tallison Teixeira

Fast and destructive. The Brazilian took Tafa to the mat and, in less than a minute, landed a movie elbow. It broke Justin’s nose on the spot, who then fell into a fetal position. Soon after, the referee stopped the fight. Nice debut for Tallison!
Zhang Weili x Tatiana Suarez

Respect the champion! Suarez was only scary in the first round, where she brought her wrestling to bear. But it seemed she had used up her energy there. From the second round onwards, Weili not only defended her takedowns, but she gave her a ball on the feet and even got takedowns for her! At each end of the round, Tatiana’s frustration was clear. And the Chinese fighter, used to fighting five rounds, just kept up the pace. A very clear and spectacular victory for Zhang!
Dricus Du Plessis x Sean Strickland

Boring fight, as expected. The South African came determined to get the clearest win possible and he did. A lot of kicks made the difference. And in the fourth round, Dricus broke Strickland’s nose and then just kept on keeping on. And for the American, with this basic game, just boxing… it’s practically impossible to get the belt again.
