UFC 315 predictions: Muhammad vs. Della Maddalena
em 06/05 - Atualizado há 12 diasThe Ultimate comes to the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada, on May 10 as one of the year’s most eagerly awaited clashes in the middleweight division.
Belal Muhammad, current champion of the division, defends his belt for the first time against Australian Jack Della Maddalena, who emerges as the challenger after an impressive run of seven consecutive victories in the UFC. Check out our full analysis and UFC 315 predictions.

Brad Katona vs Bekzat Almakhan
Bet: Katona wins
Analysis: I don’t like Katona’s style, but he’s consistent, tough and used to the UFC. Almakhan had a good debut at short notice against Umar Nurmagomedov, but lost. Katona is far from Umar’s level, but he can get a good control advantage either on the cage or by taking the fight to the ground. Katona by Decision could be a good bet…
Daniel Santos vs Jeong Yeong Lee
Bet: Lee wins
Analysis: Daniel Santos is of that Chute Boxe style – a lot of courage, but little effectiveness. When they get taken down, they stay on the bottom for too long and get dominated. Daniel is still moving up a category, as he didn’t make the weight for his previous fight, which was canceled. The Korean was on a good streak until he was knocked out by Hyder Amil, but this athlete is a standout. Against Daniel Santos, he should have more than enough weapons to get a win, as well as being used to the weight class.
Marc-André Barriault vs Bruno Silva
Bet: Barriault wins
Analysis: Marc-André will be fighting in his home country and despite coming from three defeats, two of them by knockout, he has a certain stamina and is a very strong guy for the category. Bruno Silva used to be known as a knockout artist, but he’s been suffering from mental health problems, which has diminished his fighting style a lot, until we saw his last performances, where he looked like a ghost of his former self. It’s likely to be a boring fight, but in the end, victory should go to the home fighter.
Navajo Stirling vs. Ivan Erslan
Bet: Stirling wins
Analysis: Stirling impressed me in the Contender Series with a knockout, but in his first UFC fight, despite winning by unanimous decision, it wasn’t an eye-popping performance. Now, in his second fight, he’ll have the chance to do better. Erslan comes from KSW and there he knocked everyone out. Now, in the big league, he’s already lost to Cutelaba and I don’t know if his knockout power remains. Stirling has a wingspan of over two meters and knows how to control the distance, I don’t expect him to stand in front of Ivan, waiting for the blow. It’s time to find out what the Navajo wants in the UFC.
Modestas Bukauskas x Ion Cutelaba
Bet: Cutelaba wins
Analysis: I’ve stopped doubting Cutelaba, the guy really seems to have changed his game and has been performing very well. Bukauskas has two wins in a row by knockout, but they were two underdogs. Cutelaba is dangerous on the feet, applies a lot of pressure and can take the fight to the ground if he needs to. Bukauskas is taller and could even surprise Ion with a punch, but overall I see Ion with a better chance of winning.
Jéssica Andrade x Jasmine Jasudavicius
Bet: Jasudavicius wins
Analysis: Jasmine is dangerous anywhere, but fighting at home with the support of the fans she will grow into the fight. She’ll have a height and wingspan advantage and can count on good takedowns and control as soon as she takes the fight to the ground. Jessica is a great athlete and has knockout power, but I see Jasmine with a better fight IQ and on the back of a five-fight winning streak.
Mike Malott x Charles Radtke
Bet: Radtke wins
Analysis: Malott is a good wrestler, but he has trouble finishing fights. And going three rounds taking down and controlling Charles Radtke may not be that simple. Every moment on the feet is an opportunity for Radtke, who is a tricky guy, to find a knockout. Radtke is an underdog in the bookmakers and I mention that because this guy seems to thrive in these situations.
Benoit Saint-Denis vs Kyle Prepolec*
Bet: Saint-Denis wins
*Kyle accepted the fight five days in advance!
Analysis: They brought a Canadian out from under a rock to face Benoit. Prepolec was once in the UFC where he lost two fights to average athletes. He was now in regional events putting on a show and knocking everyone out, like a guy with a 25-29 record (no joke). Saint-Denis has disappointed me in his last two performances, but he should still have enough fighting spirit left to beat Kyle, who has had very little time to prepare and is already 35 years old. Benoit has knockout power, good kicks and can fight on the ground too, he just has to watch his chin…
Alexa Grasso x Natália Silva
Bet: Silva wins
Analysis: Natália is FLYING in the octagon and getting better with each performance. She’s very fast, has great takedown defense, controls the distance and has very dangerous kicks. Grasso has good Mexican boxing, but she’s going to have problems getting close without getting caught. And to take the fight to the ground, it’s going to be a battle for her too. Unfortunately, I don’t see how Alexa can win. Maybe if it was five rounds, but with only three and the pace Natalia sets, it’s a very tough mission for the Mexican.
José Aldo vs Aiemann Zahabi
Bet: Zahabi wins
Analysis: Aldo had put in a good performance against Jonathan Martinez, but got “stuck” on the fence against Mario Bautista. It was an ugly and boring fight, but in the end Mario made the right strategy for him. If he stays in the middle of the octagon exchanging blows with Aldo, he’ll be in trouble. Zahabi is on a good winning streak and is an intelligent athlete, I don’t think he’ll let Aldo fight comfortably. I don’t care if the fight is done or boring, but if Aiemann takes it to the cage, sticks Aldo’s back there and stays there for 15 minutes, that’s great. What I really find difficult is to get a knockout or finish in this fight.
Valentina Shevchenko vs Manon Fiorot
Bet: Shevchenko wins
Analysis: Valentina is a very distinctive fighter but of course, at 37, some of her agility has started to wane. Even so, she still has plenty to deliver. She’s got enough gas for the five rounds and knows how to score during the fight. Fiorot only lost in her MMA debut. After that, she’s been on an absurd run, but she’s not an exciting fighter. She’s very strong for her category and can handle herself both standing and on the ground. But there’s the detail that it’s her first belt in the UFC. Valentina is used to it and I think she’ll be able to keep the title for a while longer, at least until Natália Silva arrives.
Belal Muhammad vs Jack Della Maddalena
Bet: Muhammad wins
Analysis: Belal’s first belt defense and I think he has enough to beat Jack, who in his last fight, found a miraculous knockout, after taking a beating from Gilbert Durinho. Belal’s ground and pound game is on a par with Durinho’s, and he now has the mentality of a champion on his side. Della Maddalena hasn’t had a full camp, which might not help him in what is the most important fight of his life. I think Belal keeps the belt, and easily.
