Hamdy Abdelwahab vs Mohammed Usman

Result: Usman wins by UNANIMOUS DECISION
Usman started the fight just walking backwards and not finding the distance, handing the round to Hamdy. The surprising thing was that, after being pulled by the corners at the break, Mohammed came back into the fight much more active. He found the distance, dizzied Hamdy, varying between jabs to the belly and to the head, and calmly secured rounds 2 and 3.
Tagir Ulanbekov vs Azat Maksum

OUBO!!!! Or else, the judges only considered control in the clinch, because that’s all Tagir could manage. Azat was far superior on the feet, had the attacks that hurt the most and managed to defend most of the Russian’s takedowns with ease. I was startled when I saw the result from the judges’ point of view.
Irina Alekseeva x Klaudia Sygula

Irina’s performance was dismal. She even made Sygula look like a good fighter, which isn’t very true. Still, in this bout, Klaudia took advantage of her long wingspan and blew Irina away on the feet. More volume and more damage in every round. All I know is that I’ll never trust Alekseeva again.
Daria Zhelezniakova x Melissa Mullins

Result: Zhelezniakova wins by UNANIMOUS DECISION
One of the best fights of the event. The two went toe-to-toe from the start and it looked like there would be a knockout at any moment. And in the pure exchange, the Russian did much better. Melissa, perhaps because of Daria’s initial momentum, didn’t apply the right strategy, which would have been to take her opponent down, and ended up being caught standing up. Although both ended up with their faces smashed in, Zhelezniakova had the better of the exchanges and deserved the win.
Ismail Naurdiev vs Jun Yong Park

Park managed to dominate Naurdiev, who tired a lot after the first round. Ismail even landed an illegal knee on the Korean in the second round that cost him 2 points, taken away by the referee. Another strange decision from the judges… I saw Bogdan dominating every round. His annoying grid game was working and he managed to hold Naimov down for a long time, not to mention the fact that he was pretty evenly matched. You can’t understand the minds of these judges.
Nazim Sadykhov vs Nikolas Motta

Brutal! Both athletes went for the opponent’s head. Motta had a good chance to knock him out in the first round, but failed to do so. Nazim grew into the fight and in the second round managed to cut Motta’s face with a monster elbow. From then on, the Brazilian slowed down. Sadykhov smelled a knockout and went for it, finishing the fight with a beautiful sequence.
Tofiq Musayev x Myktybek Orolbai

Result: Orolbai win by FINALIZATION
Quickly Orolbai destroyed Musayev’s hype. He took Tofiq down whenever he wanted and landed a kimura in the first round. Smooth win!
Curtis Blaydes vs Rizvan Kuniev

Even fight, but with a slight advantage for Blaydes in rounds 1 and 3. It was based on control in the clinch which went on for a considerable time. The clear round for Kuniev was the second, where he stopped the takedowns and applied some very good boxing that hurt Curtis’ face. But otherwise, victory for Blaydes, without controversy.
Rafael Fiziev vs Ignacio Bahamondes

Result: Fiziev wins by UNANIMOUS DECISION
Bahamondes failed to make the most of his wingspan advantage. The Chilean seemed cowed against the tough Fiziev. Rafael, very experienced, knew how to win each round and gradually destroyed Ignacio’s momentum.
Jamahal Hill vs. Khalil Rountree Jr.

Result: Rountree Jr. wins by UNANIMOUS DECISION
Super smooth. In fact, it was too smooth, because the knockout was missing! Rountree Jr. took it very easy and battered Hill for 25 minutes. Lots of kicks to the calf and axes to the face. Jamahal had no moments of danger. Nice win for Khalil and he’s already close to being able to challenge for the belt again.
