The UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs Song will take place on February 22, 2025, at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.

The main event involves Henry Cejudo, former flyweight and bantamweight champion, who will face Song Yadong, one of the division’s young talents. As well as this main fight, the event will feature other high-profile fights that promise to shake up the rankings.

UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs Song

Andre Fili x Melquizael Costa

Bet: Costa wins
Low confidence

Analysis: Fili is a veteran within the UFC, but his last performances have been questionable. In his last fight, he even won a DIVIDED decision over forty-year-old Cub Swanson. On Melquizael’s side, he has outstanding jiu-jitsu. If he can get some takedowns, take the fight to the cage, control, he has a good chance of winning.

Mansur Abdul-Malik vs Nick Klein

Bet: Abdul-Malik wins

Analysis: Two fighters who don’t usually let the fight go to the end will clash! Both come from first-round victories in last year’s Contender Series. It should be an even fight, but I see a slight advantage for Mansur, due to his thunderous knockout power.

Adam Fugitt vs Billy Ray Goff

Bet: Ray Goff wins

Analysis: Billy is a born knockout artist. Fugitt is 36 years old and has fluctuated a lot in his UFC career. He has a good wingspan advantage, but with Billy’s knockout power, if one hand catches him… Adam will be in trouble.

Ricky Simon vs Javid Basharat

Bet: Basharat wins

Analysis: The only easy prediction is that this could be the most boring fight of the night. Simon is coming off three defeats in a row and, even though he’s only 32, he seems to be in decline. Basharat, on the other hand, is coming off a defeat but still has a lot of wood to burn. He’s a complete athlete, but he’s in no hurry to finish the fight, which is what led to his first career defeat in the last round. In the end, Basharat has more weapons and more will to win.

Modestas Bukauskas x Rafael Cerqueira

Bet: Bukauskas wins

Analysis: Cerqueira came from small events and in his UFC debut he was knocked out. Bukauskas isn’t exactly the most dangerous fighter, but he has more experience in the UFC and has a wingspan advantage. But the bet is focused mainly on the fact that the Brazilian is from the Galpão da Luta academy, which doesn’t inspire much confidence in me.

Ketlen Vieira x Macy Chiasson

Bet: Chiasson wins

Analysis: Chiasson’s phase is better and her style is more aggressive. And if she manages to get the takedown, she has VERY dangerous elbows, as Mayra Shetara knows very well. Ketlen has a very slow style and is in no hurry to finish the fight…

Ion Cutelaba x Ibo Aslan

Bet: Aslan wins

Analysis: Cutelaba is a fighter we don’t usually know what to expect, let alone trust. However, this time he’s up against a Turk who is a war tank and possesses very strong knockout power. I think Ion falls between rounds 1 and 2. If he’s lucky, he’ll make it to the third.

Edson Barboza vs Steve Garcia

Bet: Garcia wins

Analysis: The Brazilian is approaching 40 years of age. In his last fight, he was battered by Englishman Lerone Murphy, but wasn’t knocked out. Unfortunately for him, he now faces Garcia, a guy with very powerful punches and who already enters the octagon at a hundred an hour. The Brazilian’s chance is to land a killer counter punch, or if he manages to survive all the rounds, because if Steve doesn’t knock him out, he’s unlikely to win on a judges’ decision.

Curtis Blaydes vs Rizvan Kuniev

Bet: Blaydes wins

Analysis: It seems to me that they are trying to speed up the Russian, but I think they are taking a bigger step than the leg. Blaydes has been knocked out 5 times, but he’s not dead. And he himself has the strength to knock out and a high level of wrestling. I’m going to believe in experience, since Rizvan has never fought someone on the same level as Curtis.

Jean Silva vs Melsik Baghdasaryan

Bet: Silva wins

Analysis: How can you not bet on one of the jewels of Fighting Nerds? Jean has shown consistency, evolution and a great fight IQ, not to mention his absurd knockout power. Baghdasaryan has been on hiatus for over a year, has had several fights canceled, it’s his comeback and they’ve already dropped this fight to him. I don’t see Melsik having an advantage in any department.

Brendan Allen vs Anthony Hernandez

Bet: Hernandez wins

Analysis: Hernandez’s form is better and he has no problem with gas if the fight goes the distance. Allen is a jiu-jitsu beast, but should the fight go the distance, he’s been showing worrying fatigue from the second round onwards. Anthony has more confidence. He just can’t go to ground and pound, especially at the start of the fight!

Henry Cejudo vs Song Yadong

Bet: Yadong wins

Analysis: Cejudo is dull in and out of the octagon. And now, at the age of 38, I find it hard to believe that he’ll be able to apply his wrestling for five rounds in a row without any consequences. The Chinese fighter seems to have more energy and will have the advantage on the feet, being younger and more agile. He just can’t keep getting knocked down like a rag doll. If he manages to stop the first few takedowns, it will discourage Henry from continuing with the same game. I hope so…
