Modestas Bukauskas x Rafael Cerqueira

Bet: Bukauskas wins
Result: Bukauskas wins by NOCAUTE

Brazilian knocked out again in the first round! This time, he stayed a little longer inside the octagon and even landed a few punches that rocked Bukauskas. However, the Brazilian has a very suspect chin and defense. As soon as Modestas’ punches came in, he cowered in the cage and surrendered.

Nursulton Ruziboev vs Eric McConico

Bet: No prediction, fight married with a few days.
Result: Ruziboev wins by Knockout

The first round was totally studied. Very few attacks from both sides. It looked like it was going to be a very boring fight. However, right at the start of the second, Ruziboev managed to knock McConico out!

Austin Vanderford vs Nikolay Veretennikov

Bet: No prediction, fight married with a few days.
Result: Vanderford wins by Knockout

Every time it looked like Nikolay was going to do well on the feet, he was taken down. And on the ground, Austin was absolutely relentless. Submission attempts, elbows that cut Veretennikov open and absolute control. Still in the second round, Vanderford took him down and applied a killer ground-and-pound.

Ricky Simon vs Javid Basharat

Bet: Basharat wins
Result: Simon wins by NOCAUTE

That was almost unbelievable! Simon’s wrestling was making the difference. He got a takedown and was in control on the fence. At distance, Basharat was better, imposing volume. However, still in the first round, something almost unbelievable happened; Simon hit a bomb with his right hand that threw Basharat to the ground, completely out, looking up. Knockout!

Mansur Abdul-Malik vs Nick Klein

Bet: Abdul-Malik wins
Result: Abdul-Malik wins by NOCAUTE

First round, a surprise: Abdul-Malik, the biggest favorite of the night, was almost knocked out after taking a spinning elbow! He was very dizzy for the rest of the round, but to his happiness, in the second, he improved, stopped all the falls of a tired Klein and managed to impose his game, which involves an absurd sequence of powerful and fast punches.

Andre Fili x Melquizael Costa

Bet: Costa wins
Result: Costa wins by FINALIZATION

Great performance from Melquizael! He was better on the feet, landing good kicks to Fili’s body and leg, keeping his distance. Until, no one can explain why, Andre threw a takedown. Even with his back on the ground, the Brazilian is a jiu-jitsu beast and quickly got the guillotine.

Adam Fugitt vs Billy Ray Goff

Bet: Ray Goff wins

There was no fight. Fugitt had to withdraw.

Ketlen Vieira x Macy Chiasson

Bet: Chiasson wins

There was no fight. Chiasson had to withdraw.

Ion Cutelaba x Ibo Aslan

Bet: Aslan wins
Result: Cutelaba wins by FINALIZATION

It looks like Cutelaba has really entered a new phase! On the feet, Aslan was better, almost knocking him out… Until Ion turned wrestler and showed that Aslan has zero percent takedown defense! Cutelaba put him down and quickly scored the finish!

Edson Barboza vs Steve Garcia

Bet: Garcia wins

There was no fight. Barboza had to withdraw.

Curtis Blaydes vs Rizvan Kuniev

Bet: Blaydes wins

Match changed date.

Alonzo Menifield x Julius Walker

Bet: No prediction, fight married with a few days.
Result: Menifield’s win by Split Decision

I know that the athletes accepted the fight with a few days left, but even so
they didn’t deliver much. They were very tired in the second round, and with Walker’s game of takedowns and control, it was very boring to watch. Even so, there were knockout chances for both sides at various times, and perhaps that’s what complicated the judges’ decision.

Jean Silva vs Melsik Baghdasaryan

Bet: Silva wins
Result: Silva wins by NOCAUTE

Jean Silva is a MONSTER! The guy played around, his dodging was practically perfect, studying his opponent. At the end of the first round, he landed two destructive punches that knocked Melsik out. The referee took a while to stop it, so the guy ended up taking a few more elbows for free. Look, I don’t see anyone stopping Jean Silva!

Rob Font x Jean Matsumoto

Bet: No prediction, fight married with a few days.
Result: Font’s victory by Split Decision

It was a great fight!!! The guys gave it their all! Only the split decision I found a bit odd… it seemed clear to me that the Brazilian’s wrestling made him win rounds 1 and 2, with Font throwing a very dangerous elbow and only winning the third round. Anyway… it happens. But on the positive side, Matsumoto is ready to face the guys at the top of the rankings.

Brendan Allen vs Anthony Hernandez

Bet: Hernandez wins
Result: Hernandez wins by UNANIMOUS DECISION

The two put a lot into their wrestling, but Allen lacked the gas to withstand Hernandez’s game: the guy doesn’t stop for a second! Always attacking. In the first round, Brendan still had a few chances to finish the fight, but the second and third rounds were a festival of Anthony’s control.

Henry Cejudo vs Song Yadong

Bet: Yadong wins
Result: Yadong wins by Technical Decision (after 3 rounds)

An anticlimactic ending. The fight ended because of an accidental finger from Song. Cejudo couldn’t come back. The Chinese was better in a fight that was all about kickboxing. He imposed more volume and was controlling the center of the octagon. I don’t think much would have changed in the final two rounds, but in the end, the way this win went, it’s possible there could be a rematch…
