Chelsea Chandler x Joselyne Edwards

Bet: Edwards wins
Result: Edwards wins by NOCAUTE

Edwards showed an incredible evolution! From the start she was better on the feet, controlling the center of the octagon, she even dared to take the fight to the ground, Chandler’s area! And then on the feet again, she threw a good sequence of punches until she knocked Chelsea out! All this in less than half a round!

Timmy Cuamba x Roberto Romero

Bet: Romero wins
Result: Cuamba wins by NOCAUTE

Timmy was coming off two defeats, but now he has found himself in the octagon. With very good boxing, fast and causing damage, Romero couldn’t find anything. The Mexican took the fight to the cage, but couldn’t get the takedown and couldn’t do any damage. Cuamba was building up to the knockout and despite Timmy’s better boxing, the knockout came with a devastating knee!

Jaqueline Amorim x Polyana Viana

Bet: Amorim wins
Result: Amorim wins by FINALIZATION

A complete pummeling! First round, more than four minutes of dominance from Jaqueline Amorim. She got the takedown with ten seconds left and then controlled and tried to finish. In the second round, the same thing: a takedown with ten seconds left, but then Polyana was already very tired and couldn’t defend against a rear naked choke.

Malcolm Wellmaker x Cameron Saaiman

Bet: Wellmaker wins
Result: Wellmaker wins by NOCAUTE

I had already warned you on the Contender Series: Wellmaker is DIFFERENTIATED. The youngster made his UFC debut with a brutal knockout. Saaiman didn’t attempt a takedown, knowing he’d be in danger on his feet. Malcolm misled Cameron and caught him in a devastating counter attack.

Da’mon Blackshear x Alatengheili

Bias: Blackshear win
Result: Blackshear win by UNANIMOUS DECISION

zzzzzzz Da’mon who is a jiu-jitus beast, decided to fight only kickboxing (he was traveling in Thailand, according to the UFC commentators). It’s interesting to note that he’s improving on the feet too, but he gave the Chinese a chance to apply his boxing. To Alatengheili’s misfortune, Da’mon is sharp at kickboxing. In every round, he landed many more significant blows than his opponent. In the end, a clear victory for Blackshear.

Chris Gutierrez vs. John Castaneda

Bet: Gutierrez wins
Result: Gutierrez wins by split decision

If there’s one guy who knows how to win fights on decision, it’s Gutierrez. He moves well and throws powerful kicks at his opponents’ legs. Castaneda was another victim. For the judges who saw Castaneda winning, perhaps the falls in rounds 1 and 3 made the difference. But overall, FOR THOSE WHO PAID ATTENTION TO THE FIGHT, rounds 1 and 2 were clear for Chris Gutierrez.

Evan Elder x Gauge Young

Bet: Elder wins
Result: Elder wins by UNANIMOUS DECISION

Elder won because of the body kicks, of which there were many! Young, even though he accepted the fight with a few days to go, came in locked. He threw punches at a sparring pace. Evan Elder kept up the pace in all three rounds. A smooth victory.

Matt Schnell vs Jimmy Flick

Bet: Flick wins
Result: Schnell wins by UNANIMOUS DECISION

Flick had an excellent first round, with takedowns and submission attempts. However, he tired a lot. Schnell grew into the fight in the second round and landed a powerful elbow that left Flick dazed for the rest of the fight. Schnell tried to knock him out and finish him. He didn’t succeed, but the decision victory was clear.

Ikram Aliskerov vs Andre Muniz

Bet: Aliskerov wins
Result: Aliskerov wins by NOCAUTE

The Brazilian was doing well in the first round, finding his distance, but at the end of the round, a left cross sent Andre to the ground. And then the Russian closed the bout with ground and pound.

Randy Brown vs Nicolas Dalby

Playoff: Brown wins
Result: Brown wins by NOCAUTE

It’s amazing to see how big Brown is in this category. He looked like a giant against Dalby. Nicolas, who is a very tough athlete, had his nose broken in the first round and still managed to get a knockdown. However, in the second round, the two went for a pure exchange. And in the midst of the chaos, Brown landed a right hand bomb that sent Dalby to the ground on the spot.

Michel Pereira vs Abus Magomedov

Bet: Pereira wins
Result: Magomedov wins by UNANIMOUS DECISION

Michel Pereira IRRECOGNIZABLE! He submitted rounds 1 and 2, with what according to his own corners was a “strategy” to tire out his opponent… the problem is that Michel got tired too! He was behind in every round and didn’t have the gas to react. On the other side, Abus put in a pretty good performance too, but he had more desire to win. The worst fight of the night and one of the worst of the year.

Giga Chikadze x David Onama

Bet: Onama wins
Result: Onama wins by UNANIMOUS DECISION

Chikadze was better on his feet, but just when he was thinking of getting comfortable… Onama, displaying a great fighting IQ, launched a takedown. Then, on the ground, he got good control positions and even tried to finish. Good performance from Onama!

Anthony Smith vs Zhang Mingyang

Bet: Mingyang wins
Result: Mingyang wins by NOCAUTE

This Chinese is a monster! The guy comes in to finish the fight in the first round. The thing is, he doesn’t go in desperate, in fact, he builds up to the knockout, only quickly. This time, in Anthony Smith’s last fight, he landed an elbow to Smith’s head that made him very dizzy. When Anthony tried to take him down in desperation, Zhang reversed and closed the account with ground and pound.

Ian Machado Garry x Carlos Prates

Bet: Prates wins
Result: Machado Garry wins by UNANIMOUS DECISION

The Irishman has managed to stop Fighting Nerds! Wow! Garry started the fight  very well, evading the Brazilian’s dangerous left hand and applying a lot of volume. Prates had a hard time finding the distance. Carlos only improved in the final two rounds, almost scoring a knockout in the last few minutes. However, going to the judges’ decision, it couldn’t have been any different.
