Check out the predictions and analysis for all the fights on the card below. The predictions take into account the fighters’ current form, performance history and fighting styles.
Melissa Croden x Tainara Lisboa
Better guess: Lisboa wins
Analysis: Lisboa is a stand-up fighter, specializing in muay thai. Her problem is defensive ground fighting, she has a lot of trouble with her opponents’ takedowns. I’m counting on her being able to stop the Canadian’s takedowns, as she likes to take the fight to the ground, but her victories aren’t against high-profile athletes. Tainara just needs to keep the fight on the feet long enough.
Azamat Bekoev vs Yousri Belgaroui
Better guess: Bekoev wins
Analysis: Yousri got the contract in the 2024 Contender Series, with a very so-so victory… Now, the UFC has handed him a Russian bomb. Bekoev is explosive, good in all areas with knockout and finishing power. Yousri will have a good height and wingspan advantage, but tends to succumb to Azamat’s pressure.
Stephanie Luciano x Ravena Oliveira
Bet: Luciano wins
Analysis: Ravena hasn’t fought for over 2 years and comes back to be beaten by Stephanie. Despite Luciano coming from defeat, she fought well, but Sam Hughes’ infinite gas complicated things. Stephanie is very good on the feet, agile, with strong kicks and likes to pressure her opponents. From what I’ve seen of Ravena, nothing has impressed me much, apart from the fact that she has a certain stamina. It won’t be enough for this fight.
Kyle Prepolec x Drew Dober
Bet: Dober wins
Analysis: Despite being on a 3-fight losing streak, Dobe is more experienced in terms of number of fights, and he’s a tricky guy who knows how to win rounds if necessary. Prepolec is coming off a reasonable performance in his defeat to Benoit Saint Denis, but I don’t know if he’s UFC level, despite showing knockout power in his fights before the event. Both are 36 years old.
Danny Barlow x Djorden Santos
Barlow’s win
Analysis: Danny didn’t put in a good performance in his last fight, but he’s a top-level striker with a destructive left hand. Djorden has good stamina but he’s slow, sometimes he seems to black out. If he stumbles for a second in front of Barlow, it’s all over. And that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
Bruno Silva vs HyunSung Park
Bet: Park wins
Analysis: Brasileiro is coming off two knockout losses and even though he’s “only” 35, he’s already showing signs that he’s not at the top level. Park, on the other hand, was flying until he agreed to take on Tatsuro Taira at short notice. He took a beating and now the UFC has taken a few steps back for him. Even so, he delivered a very winnable fight. The Korean has knockout power, is 29 years old and, on his best days, is very difficult to catch.
Charles Jourdain x Davey Grant
Bet: Jourdain wins
Analysis: The Briton Grant, even at 39, has put in two incredible performances against good athletes. Davey’s gas and the pressure he puts on his opponents is impressive. Even though Jourdain is a bit slow, he’ll be fighting at home and won’t make it easy for the veteran. It should be an even fight, but due to the home factor and the age factor, I think Charles has the edge.
Kyle Nelson vs Matt Frevola
Bet: Frevola wins (Low Confidence)
Analysis: Frevola fights little, but has a very intense first round. And several have already succumbed to it. Kyle is an athlete who prefers longer fights. If he goes into low gear, he’ll be in trouble. They’ve both been out of action for over a year and, although Nelson is a year younger than Frevola, it’s Matt who looks more fit. Of course, Frevola’s explosive first round could also be his death knell, as he’ll be susceptible to counter attacks.
Cody Gibson x Aoriqileng
Bet: Gibson wins
Analysis: Although he’s 38 and fickle, one thing Gibson knows how to do well is play a boring game, in the sense of locking his opponent down, taking him to the ground and controlling him. And Aoriqileng has difficulty with this grid game and his takedown defense. For Aori to be able to do anything, he’d have to keep the fight on the feet, and I think that’s very unlikely against Cody.
Manon Fiorot x Jasmine Jasudavicius
Better guess: Jasudavicius wins
Analysis: Fiorot is a bureaucratic fighter, with plenty of gas, good takedown defense and distance control, but lacks agility. Jasmine is flying, on a good 5-fight winning streak, fighting well, consistently and imposing her game. I don’t know if she’ll be able to take the Frenchwoman to the ground, but she’s strong enough to lock her game in the clinch and put volume on Manon.
Marlon Vera vs Aiemann Zahabi
Bet: Zahabi win
Analysis: Aiemann is 37 years old, and despite taking many fights to decision, he is a fighter who imposes his game, puts the pressure on and has made many people stumble in front of him, including a win against José Aldo in his last performance. Vera, on the other hand, hasn’t fought in over a year and in his last few fights, he didn’t even seem to want to be in the octagon. I don’t know how the athlete’s mental state is, but if he doesn’t come in 100% focused against Zahabi, he’s going to be in trouble.
Kevin Holland vs Mike Malott
Bet: Malott wins
Analysis: And Holland is back, in his fifth fight this year. He’s a very long-limbed guy, good on his feet and a standout in ground fighting, at least on the offensive side. But sometimes he doesn’t go in with his full attention and ends up succumbing. Malott is an aggressive fighter, very technical, he likes to take the fight to the ground. But sometimes, the Canadian gets caught on the gas. He has to be very careful because Kevin is a tricky guy and very experienced. Even so, if Mike comes in with a lot of pressure, takes the fight to the ground, he could do well.
Reinier de Ridder vs Brendan Allen
Better guess: de Ridder wins
Analysis: Allen has very good jiu-jitsu, but suspect gas. In the standing fight, the American has some difficulties. On the other side, there’s a Dutchman who is an expert in ground fighting and who has been putting in better and better performances, despite fighting in a very “weird” way. And I think the important detail here is that Reinier uses his large wingspan to apply powerful knees to his opponents’ bodies. If Allen takes two or three like that in the first round, the gas is gone, and then it’s game over.
